Back from Lexington and had a fabulous time...

A group of us girls....The Travelin Chicks, went to Lexington to peddle our wares. So much fun....We had such a good time of meeting new people and enjoying each others friendship....I had a blast.

Audrey with her "Lil Booger Bows", had hats, bows, and a "new" creation, her "clippy". They sold like hotcakes. They are a little flower with a button or bling in the center.....every girl should have several to stick in the hair, or use as a pin or a outfit or coat. They are really unusual, and oh so reasonable. Contact her at: www.lilboogerbows.com or at http://lilboogerbows.blogspot.com

Cathy, from Cobblestone Farms, had her unique handpainted ornaments that she sat and customized for excited Christmas Shoppers. Plus her one of a kind heirloom vintage braclets, were an awesome gift to be lucky to get. Cathy is a wonderful friend, mother, wife, and talented artist, whom I'm so happy to be in her circle of friends. She has a wonderful little gift shop on south 61 in Historic Green County Kentucky. Check her out at http://cobblestonefarms.blogspot.com

Angelina, the creator of the idea of "The Travelin' Chicks" , made her gourmet goodies, Oreo Balls and sold her Pampered Chef. She was a deliteful sales lady, and she is such an upbeat motivator and friend. Thanks Angelina for your work pulling this all together!

Linda, "Me", I peddled my Candles, Potpourri, and Air Fresheners. I made a new contact for a wholesale account, and hopefully will soon have my Kindlelight Blessings in several fine gift shops. Dickens Christmas, Hazelnut Delite, Oodles of Snickerdoodles all seemed to be a Hit fragrance this season. www.kindlelightblessings.com

Thanks for stopping by in my little neck of the woods. We all have products from head to toe, it's One Stop Shopping when you shop with a "Chick".

Thanks,
Linda

OUCH---what crafters won't do........

Crafters will do most anything to get the job done...right? Well stupid me tring to work too fast ramed a crochet hook thru the palm of my hand to the top.....ouch is not a strong enough word let me tell you. I'm going to spare you of the gory details, but God is so good! No permanent damage was done, just slowed me down a bit. I am so Thankful for a fast recovery, as well as for the Lord, my family, my job, friends, and my love for creating.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving....

With Love,
Linda

Had a wonderful weekend.....

I had my church ladies out for some food and fellowship on Saturday. It is always so nice to spend time with Godly ladies! We ate some really good food, and then had a handout/lesson on "Stress at the Holidays", getting everything done like all of us superladies do, having fun and keeping "Jesus" in the center of it all. Of course, we can't do any of it without the Lord!

Priority your next 5 weeks. Write it down, and remember there is only 24 hours in a day, and you must plan on resting at least 6-8 hours. Keep your prayers and devotions up, the Lord will give us strength to do what we must, and the rest will really just be inimportant.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving because we all have so much to be Thankful for.

HAPPY FALL--Oh my gosh, how time flies!!!

Ok, who else has no time for posting? I appreciate you all looking at my blog, and maybe someday I can get it "all together", but....I have no time for posting, and when I do have time, I feel like it boring....Anyway, be patience with me. I have been cleaning out my rental store, and it's sold! Yeah...And my new little "Candle Cottage" still has a little way to go, but it will be worth the wait. I'm doing a fundraiser for HOSA, at our local Tech. School. Thanks HOSA students, and best of luck in your selling.

Happy Belated Birthday to my precious granddaughter, Molly, and grandson, Gage. Also congratulations to Jaime for the birth of her little angel girl, Grace. God has blessed me with such a awesome family. My little Natalie g-baby is awesome too. She's growing and oh so smart!

Happy Fall!

I'm a Grandmama Again---What do you think about these cousins!

Lil' Molly

Lil' Natalie

Oh My GOSH, Can't you tell they are cousins!! Being a grandmama is the most awesome thing in the world. I've always heard that from other grandparents but it's true. I just spent some time with my daughter and her family, tring to help a little, but I must admit, I got a lot of baby holding time too. I am so blessed to have daughters that are terrific moms.

My other daughter is going to have another lil' grandbaby girl in September, that means three girls in the span of one year. Of course we have our darling little grandson, Gage too. He will be six, and he's his Papa's buddy for sure!

GOD IS SO GOOD, AND I THANK HIM AND PRAISE HIM FOR THESE PRECIOUS BLESSINGS.

UNTIL NEXT TIME,.......LINDA

Air Fresheners and More......Busy as a Bee!!!

Hi Friends,
I've not been a very good blogger lately, but I've been really busy creating more and more air fresheners. New in stock are adorable butterflies. My painting has really improved, (after hundreds it should ), and they are all look so cute. I was tring to put antenas on the butterflies, but they look really cute without, and with is just too tedious and time consuming. I'm also working on Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbons, soft pink highlighted in white, and you know it, some sparkle and bling! I will be posting some pictures as soon as I can. I'm getting ideas for fall and winter, "Christmas". Vision white snowflakes with winter blue accents, and of course, some sparkle and bling.

Don't forget---do not throw away your air freshener after it loses it's scent. Either buy my fragrance oils to refreshen you freshener, use your freshener for a tag on a gift, or maybe a Christmas ornament, or just hang on a peg and knob for a little sumthin sumthin hanging around.

Remember, check back, pictures to follow.

Also, I'm waiting with great excitment for a new grandbaby girl to be born, Miss Natalie Rae.......Happy Labor Day Ashley.

Stormy Rainy Weather!!

Hi Everyone,

Well we're back from spring break! It was nice to have a week off, but I didn't get done near what I'd planned. The weather was dreary most of the time, and I couldn't motivate myself, oh my. I did however get to watch my little grandbaby, and oh the fun we had. We played and played, took a stroll, a lil' nap, and played some more. I did make some tarts, practiced for an Easter Drama at church, and had a wonderful Easter Service.

It's been stormy rainy cold weather. I'm planing for my youngest daughter's baby shower. Everything pink and pretty.

I'll post again real soon to show off some of my yummies......Have a wonderful day.

Grace & Peace,
Linda

Woo-Hoo, Almost time for Spring Break!!

When the sun is shining like it is now, oh I want to be outside piddling. I also like to clean house when the sun is shining.....oh I know I'm weird! But you have to admit, there is nothing like opening up windows, getting things cleaned up, then sitting back smelling and enjoying all the clean air and atmostophere.

Last night I planted some California Garlic, and lavendar. I've never attempted garlic, so we'll see how it does. I know everything fresh is so much better, I'll see about the garlic, I may be making a lot of italian dishes.

Next week I have a lot of "home catch up jobs" to do. That will be my spring break. Also I'm going to visit my dear lil' Aunt Libby. She is so precious. She's 85+. She's such a super lady. She's been working on our family tree for over 40 years. She has some of the most interesting stories about our family. She's also had several things published, and she NEVER meets a stranger.

Please have a wonderful weekend, and God Bless!!!

Grace & Peace for this up coming "Holy Week".Linda

Laundry Soap Recipe

Hello Friends.
This recipe is from "The Beehive Cottage"Miss Mary Jane. Thanks to her that I found this about 6-7 weeks ago, I made it, and am using the Laundry Soap and saving lots of $$$$$. I have tweeked it a little, and love the results.
Miss Mary Jane says that it's great for people that have allergies, or sensitive skin.

3 Bars Fels Naptha Soap --(usually Kroger carries this in laundry isle)
4-5 pounds of Borax
4-5 pounds of Arm & Hammer Washing Soda ( usually Kroger carries this
in laundry isle- and if you can get extra strength that would be great.)
4-5 pounds of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda

Shred soap and mix all ingredience together. Place in a airtight container.

Use 1-2 tablespoons for regular soiled clothes
Use 2-3 tablespoons for heavily soiled clothes

Now, my tweeking--take 2 cups of powder solution and add one (1) box of Rit whitner

Use only in white clothes, and if heavily stained soak for a while.

If you usually use fabric softner, you can replace it with white vinegar- 1/2 cup will do, and will not make your dry clothes have a odor. That will really save some money too.

My experience:
my towels seem fluffier, and my clothes are getting clean, even my husbands farm clothes are clean as a whistle. Also it's taken blood out without a stain left. (I washed immediately)

One more thing, the soap will not have a suds in it, so it's safe for front loading machines. I also think that's why the clothes little by little are getting fluffy because all the extra soap residue is coming out. Please let me hear about your experience. If my calculations are right, with whitener and all ingredience, my laundry soap is $14.00 plus change, tax included and should last my family of 3 (with a husband who farms and teenage boy) at least 6 months. I've already been using it for about 6 weeks and I don't notice a dent in my solution!

Happy Laundering......Linda

Happy St. Patty's Day

Top of the Mornin' to ya. No, I didn't wear green today, although it's my favorite color. I painted my office Sherwin Williams - Hearts of Palms - a beauitful green color, a very happy and soothing color. When I first painted it, I wasn't too sure, but as it dried, it's really pretty. Hydrangeas and daisies make it complete. Pictures to follow, but I wanted to post, Have a wonderful day. I hope that you day is complete with warm weather, smiling faces, and lots of Green

Hugs and Blessings,
Linda

Sponsor A Child!!

Hi my dear Friends,

I just received a letter from my little girl, Joselin, that I sponsor in Nicaragua. I've been in partnership with Compassion International for almost 4 years. I've just gotta tell you all, this little girl has brought so much joy to my life. I've never met her, but our hearts connect.

These children need our help! Financially, and more than that spiritually. For just $32.00 a month, you can change a child's life. That child will get food, education, medical attention, and thru your letters, love and hope. I waste sometimes more than $32.00 a month, and it's just $l.lo a day.

Please comment, and even if you can't make a commitment today, will you say a prayer, and ask God to guide and direct you in this matter?

Thanks, and God Bless you all.

Delish...Yummy .... Fruit Cocktail Handpainted bowls

Handpainted bowls with my own Fruit Cocktail Candle....yummmm

Alls I can say is YUMMY!!! These delicious bowls are handpainted by ME! I'm not an artist by no means, but I must say they are very cute. The paint is baked on, so they shouldn't wash off, but I would still handwash this bowl when it's empty!! The blue cornflowers are just what you need for a spring pick me up. Both bowls are filled with my popular "FRUIT COCKTAIL" fragrance, topped with yummy fruit that I also handmold. Strawberrys, blueberrys, chunks of apricot, peaches and blackberrys make this bowl of fruit delish!

They look so cute out on your counter, but make sure they don't get eatten!!

Have a wonderful Sunday........It's snowin' here in KY, we've started revival.....so........I'm pumped for the Lord and for spring!

Blessings to all my wonderful friends....

It's A Girl

The picture of Ashley on the phone is when she was telling her big sister Audrey what she was having.

Yes, it's a Girl. My daughter Ashley is going to be a mother in June. I was privledged to go to the ultra sound. Baby girl is active and growing. The proud parents do not have a name for this little sweetie, but I guess it should be a beauty. My lil' booger will now have a little girl cousin that she will be able to be good friends with. I know as they grow, they'll share secrets, and do fun girl stuff, maybe play Barbies like their mama's did when they were little.
The Fabric is what I plan to make little one a quilt out of. She needs some "bling" and color . I'm thinking of either a log cabin or a 9 patch, what do you think?

Cute sayings I can remember my little ones saying so long ago: I took Audrey to a fast food chinese place, placed my order then went to sit down, she said, "mama, I thought this was suppose to be fast food". Ashley randomly said one time as we were driving down the road, "I'm gonna color my hair red, and change my name to Ariel", she was about 6 years old then. Then Zach, we went to McDonalds, they weren't really too friendly, He said " and I thought they said they like to see you smile" he was about 6 too. Kids really do observe, so be careful what you do and say, you just might be reminded sometime.

Have a wonderful week in the Lord and God Bless.

With Blessings and Love, Linda

Kindred Spirits

This is John O'Banion, son of one of my most beloved friends, Betty. John's music is found on my song list. He passed away 2 years ago, 2 days shy of his 60th birthday. His tragic death was complicated by an accident that happened to him in New Orleans years ago, leaving certain damage done to his brain. He was an passionate singer, actor, friend, father, husband, and son. Although John and his family made his home Hollywood, his terrific mother makes her home in a small town in Kentucky, a neighboring community of mine. Betty is my "Kindred Spirit" friend. Although she's thirty something years older than me, I couldn't ask for a sweeter friend. This beloved friend of mine prays for me, share jokes and laughs with me. We've shared recipes of tweeking candle making and other crafts. She is a very giving person, and I'm a better person just for knowing her. If you want to read more about John, just google his name, John O'Banion. Andy Williams, Johnny Carson, and several other people is worked with. He became a big name in Japan, even now, his is well known and loved by the Japanese people. Please listen to the two songs I have on my tunes. (#1 and #7 on my playlist)
Most of all, remember the special people in your life now, give them a call, drop them a note, or if they've passed on..........light a candle and just remember...............<spanPhotobucket src="http://i401.photobucket.com/albums/pp93/lilboogerbows/lindasign.png" border=0>

Oh What Fun!

I have had a ball, reading and finding out about all the wonderfully talented people out there. I'm learning, and would appreciate any constructive imput and help. After all, I not only want to tell you what's going on in my live and the people that I am closest to, but I want to be an inspiration to others too.

I decided to cut loose and paint a pie safe that I bought 17 years ago when I got married. I've had it in my main restroom all this time, holding lots and lots of junk---ugh....so, after so many ladies inspiring me to Get With It, I decluttered and painted. Now ladies, I couldn't get too daring with my paint, so I painted a solid black. Please let me know what you think.........

My Beautiful Grandbaby

A Big thank you to Audrey.....She's tring to keep me on track and up to date with my blog. She's my talented daughter, Extension Agent for my community, and also the mother of my beautiful grandbaby. She also is the owner and bow artist for "Lil Booger Bows".

One thing I must admit, my blog does not show my true talent or personality. I look at so many other blogs and am so impressed by how much the blog reflects the peoples personality. I just don't have the knowledge to create on the computer, but I'm not giving up! I haven't figured out how to juggle my public work, family life, creating wonderful candles, being a great mom and grandmama, serving the Lord and having a great blog. Someday, the Lord willith, it will all come together.

Thanks for sticking with me, and hopefully with practice I can inspire you from my little part of the world.Photobucket

It's Cold Outside!

Took a break from everything other than concentrating on my new job! I love it! I am so blessed to have found a public job in my tiny little community, working for the school system. I'm now secretary of transportation and maintenance. All the people are fabulous, and it's so good to be close to my son, daughter, and grand baby.

Anyway, I'm planning some great new scents in candles, tarts, and yummys for the spring. Let me hear from you what fragrances your looking for, and then I'll tweak it to make a super unique scent or look.

Thanks for visiting my little part of the world. Oh, and visit Miss Cathy Cobblestone, she's opening for 2009 today! Blessings to you for a prosperous New Year 2009!!!
I'm really looking forward to your spring time harvest for beautiful flowers!!
